Choosing the Right System
There are many types of hot water units and the right choice depends on your household size, budget and whether you have gas connected. Paul can help you work through the options and apply for any available government rebates including VEECs and STCs and Solar Victoria Rebate for eligible installations.
Electric Heat Pumps
Government grants are currently available for heat pump hot water systems. Heat pumps work in a similar way to split system technology, using refrigerant to heat the water efficiently. They are available in sizes from 200 to 315 litres.
A word of caution, the Macedon Ranges climate is colder than Melbourne and not all systems are suited to it. The cheapest option is not always the best option here. Call us to discuss what's right for your home and family
Electric Storage
Available in 250, 315 and 400 litre sizes in glass coated steel or stainless steel. The average family of four typically suits a 315 litre unit. The 315 and 400 litre units are also available in single or dual element, utilising off peak and peak power to heat the water.

Gas Continuous Flow
Continuous flow units heat water on demand, making them more cost efficient as they don't heat a full water tank all day. They never run out of hot water and are available in both natural gas and LPG.
Gas Storage
Gas storage units heat and hold a tank of water ready to use and offer a straightforward, cost-effective solution for many households. Like all storage systems, they are limited to the volume of water in the tank, so high-demand households may find the last person in the shower runs cold. Available in natural gas and LPG.
